Happy Election Day!

It's election day - or at least the start of it!

We have two slots available on the 2013 Board of Directors for our chapter.  We ask that every member exercise their right to have a say in the direction our chapter will head in 2013.

We have some magnificent candidates running for office this year!

Members can cast their vote by going to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/FZKXM56 before midnight November 14, 2012.

The winners of the election will be announced on November 15, 2012 at the Annual Meeting held at UNF's University Center.  Please preregister for the meeting my going to www.caijaxannual.eventzilla.net.  Once you register online you will be emailed a paper ticket.  Bring this ticket to the meeting to receive an EXTRA raffle ticket!

2012 Annual Meeting | November 15, 2012


It's that time of year again - annual meeting and election time!  Our Annual Meeting is scheduled for November 15th, 2012 at 8:30am at the UNF University Center.  We will be announcing the newly elected Board of Director Members, discuss our holiday social, roll out our 2013 chapter sponsorship options and more.  

Registration and payment for this annual meeting can be done at anytime between now and 8:00 am November 15th online by visiting caijaxannual.eventzilla.net. Once you register online a ticket will be emailed to you - please print this ticket off and bring to the registration table at the meeting to receive an EXTRA raffle ticket!  You can still register at the door as well but we highly encourage you to register online as it is easier for us to get a head count this way.  Please remember that only cash, check or money order are accepted at the door at this time.

This year there are two positions which will be opening up on our Board of Directors.  If you are interested in running for the Board of Directors please send an email to caijaxmetrochapter@gmail.com as soon as possible.  All who wish to be considered for the Board of Directors must submit their intent to run via email by midnight on October 14th and answer the following questions:

Financial Panel Discussion | September 20, 2012

Join us on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at UNF's University Center for a Financial Panel Discussion. There will be a CPA specialist, Reserve specialist and a Community Association Volunteer Leader.

Registration and breakfast begins at 8:00 a.m. and the meeting begins at 8:30 a.m.

  • Reserve Specialist - Will discuss the benefits and use of a reserve study in the budget process and the advantages of using a professional for getting a reserve study done.
  • CPA Specialist - Will discuss budgeting as a planning tool and basics for board and managers to track the progress of association financial position; line items based on association responsibilities and allowing for bad debt.
  • Community Association Volunteer Leader - Will discuss the process the Board goes through in planning the association budget.

July Meeting | CEU Course

Our Chapter is so excited to be offering our first Continuing Education Course, which is worth two CEU credits. The meeting/course will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at UNF's University Center, which is located at 12000 Alumni Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32224. Our speaker is David Rottman, with Coker, Schickel, Sorenson & Posgay, P.A. His practice is focused on real estate litigation, community association law and creditor's rights.

2012 Trade Show

We are excited to be partnering with Property Manager Pages for our 2012 Trade Show. It will be held on May 16, 2012 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Morocco Shrine Center, located at 3800 St. Johns Bluff Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32224.

Last year's attendance was excellent, but this year we are aiming for even higher attendance. This year's theme is MONOPOLY. More correspondence to come on how the game will be played.

You can sign up for your booth online. Visit PM-EXPO Jacksonville and on the upper right, click on RESERVE A BOOTH. After you fill out the form online, you can click SUBMIT and it becomes an email with an attachment. Click SEND to ensure your application is recieved.
